Ensemble East return to Aylsham church for their annual concert with an exciting programme.
This concert spans three centuries. There are two magnificent 18th century symphonies from Hadyn and Mozart, surrounding Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll written in1868 as a romantic present for his wife and Ruth Gipps’ evocative Seascape – a short unashamedly romantic work composed in 1958 for wind decet. A jewel of a piece, it seems appropriate to be played in Norfolk with its seemingly endless and exquisite seashore.
“This well-known chamber orchestra is notable for focussing far more on intensity, energy and intimacy than on volume, producing interpretations of classical music that are hard to match.”
