Afternoon violin recital, 3.30pm, Sunday 14 October at Aylsham Parish Church.
Simon Smith violin
Bach D minor partita, Kurtag, Paganini
Simon, a Royal Birmingham Conservatoire tutor, plays J S Bach’s D minor partita ahead of a performance of the work in Russia. Included in the concert will be pieces by Kurtag, Ysaÿe and Paganini.
The music is diverse but is brought together in a cleverly constructed, informed recital where music is linked by the dedicatees of the composer.
Simon Smith has been active as a soloist, chamber musician and teacher worldwide for 30 years.
